Mosquito / World tour of the actions of the global climate strikeTens of thousands of people gathered this Friday in the long-awaited global climate strike. Here's what to remember. In addition to the usual Thursday student-walkers, NGOs, unions, climate groups and other "simple" citizens joined in this historic event. All with a single and unique goal: to ask the politicians of the different countries for more actions and concrete measures in favor of the climate. In the four corners of the world, they have responded to the call of the young Swedish activist, Greta Thunberg and to the alarm bells she sounds daily via social networks and the European conferences to which she is increasingly invited. In Belgium, some 10,000 people responded on Facebook. On the page dedicated to the event and managed by the organization Youth for climate, we can read some of the demands of young citizens: "Today we use 100 million barrels of oil every day. There is no no law to change that. There are no rules to keep that oil in the ground. We can't save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to change."In the end, they were well over 10,000 to demonstrate in dozens of different places in the country.Although Belgium has become a master in demonstrations for the climate, it is not only here that citizens have decided to take to the streets.Greenpeace has also made available a map of the world listing the several thousand actions that took place this Friday, March 15.But that's not all.In France, a "March of the Century" is to take place this Saturday, March 16.Organized by hundreds of NGOs in the country, this mobilization promises to be the largest in the history of the country.Since the end of 2018, several movements have emerged such as "It's still time" or "The affair of the century", a petition supported by personalities and signed by two million people who takes France to court for breach of its obligation action against global warming. It's the news deciphered on a daily basis and told with a unique tone.News, surveys, stories, cultures, trends, ideas, solutions… Every day our journalists get involved and immerse themselves in the subjects that concern you.
