STATE BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARDS & SUMMIT – 2023

We’re thrilled to tell you about Mr. Kaushal Poddar, a well-respected Silver City native whose ideas and drive have led him to great success. Sri Shyam Sundar Poddar and his family settled down in Jagatpur, Cuttack, Odisha in 1995, making Kolkata their permanent home no longer. Their eldest son, Mr. Kaushal Poddar, attended Cambridge School on Cuttack’s Cantonment Road beginning in ninth grade and graduating with an ICSE diploma in 1997. His education culminated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack (Hons). Later, he attended Symbiosis Pune and graduated with an MBA. Since 1997, Mr. Kaushal Poddar has shown significant interest in his father’s business. By 2022, he will have 25 years of professional experience.

PVC, UPVC, SWR, borewell casing, HDPE, garden hoses, CPVC pipes, and fittings are all products that “ORISSA PLASTO” produces at its headquarters in the Jagatpur New Industrial Estate in Cuttack. They have been making plastic goods professionally since 1996, and their production skills and knowledge are second to none. When it comes to manufacturing CPVC pipes and fittings, they were the pioneers in the state of Odisha. ORISSA PLASTO PIPES PVT. LTD. started out in 1992. Utkal Products was a failing division of OSFC until it was acquired by Er. Shyam Sundar Poddar, a seasoned businessman based in Kolkata who is now the company’s chairman. After facing many challenges, the unit finally started producing in 1994. As a result of government assistance, they express gratitude. The make-in Odisha conclave was an important initiative by the state of Odisha, as it aimed to increase the amount of money the state government received from businesses looking to set up shop in the state.

My father, Mr. Kaushal explains, purchased the sick Orissa Plasto pipes Pvt ltd. from osfc in 1992. It was thanks to his hard work that I was able to learn how to revive a failing business and turn it into a successful enterprise. At the current rate of growth, our ssi company’s annual revenue should hit 100 crore by the end of the year. What sets Orissa Plasto apart from the competition is the company’s dedication to providing its channel partners, dealers, and distributors with a steady stream of products at competitive prices. That’s why our motto is “bringing you the best,” and why we always deliver on our promises.

Mr. Kaushal Poddar has significantly increased the company’s revenue thanks to his tireless efforts and dedication to the development of the business. He expanded the PVC pipe plant’s production capacity from 200 metric tonnes per year to 6500 metric tonnes per year by upgrading the technology in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. In 2018, he established a new company called AADI POLYEXTRUSION & MOULDING PVT. LTD. and built a brand-new production facility in Jagatpur. The company produces a variety of pvc pipe including cpvc, upvc, swr, garden hose, and cpvc fittings. The company has grown from a yearly business of Rs 35 lakhs in 1997 to a yearly business of Rs 100 crores in 2022. Mr. Kaushal Poddar, a young and successful businessman, has invested Rs 20 crores in a new plant in Jagatpur that will use cutting-edge technology to manufacture water tanks, PVC suction hoses, LLDPE flat hoses, PVC braided hoses, and their fittings. The year 2024 marks the start of production. The company currently sells its wares through reliable dealers and distributors across the entire state of Odisha. The ORISSA PLASTO brand is carried by every respectable health and beauty supply store in the Indian state of Odisha.

Covid 19 was extremely lethal and risky because the virus spread after the lockdown was lifted. Even though the national lockdown lasted for 25 days, they hardly closed their unit because they were committed to maintaining a steady supply for their dealers and distributors. As producers of consumer-based essential commodities like water and sanitation-related products, they were less affected than they would have thought by the outbreak.

“Plastic is a consumable product; however, just as too much of anything is bad, too much plastic waste is bad for the environment. Plastic is a useful material, but we need to educate ourselves on how to reuse, recycle, and even break it down into its component parts. The state government must prohibit harmful plastics and take the necessary measures to speed up the decomposition of trash. According to Mr. Kaushal, “in order to restrict the excess production capacity installation, which is not good for the health of the industry, the state government has to come up with a policy on the district industrial centre level to assess the per capita consumption of that particular product and the installed capacity inside the state.”

There is room for all brands in the in-and-out of the way rush market, no single company has monopoly power, and each product should be able to hold its own. They have been successful for 25 years and have a solid reputation in their industry; they are pleased with their progress thus far and plan to continue growing.

They were born into a business dynasty that dates back to the turn of the century. They originally came from Kolkata but have been in Odisha for 27 years. Their ancestors originated in Rajasthan, but many members of their extended family now live and work in other parts of India. Therefore, business is in their blood, and they take pride in it, as modern businessmen are essential to a country’s progress by creating jobs and paying taxes.

Finally, he says, “I believe in simple living and high thinking,” and that “a person should always be updated” by adapting to the world as it is today. In today’s fast-paced, highly competitive world, adapting to new circumstances is crucial, but so is maintaining a strong connection to one’s past and one’s family. Nothing superfluous, whether in the way of style, lifestyle, or luxury, can be afforded. Take each day as it comes.

10 Years in positive journalism, and counting….. One decade of carrying positive journalism is no less than providing a service to the nation. As a result, the fear of losing the respect of the readers is what prevents us not to be stopping any publications related to those inspiring personalities on a regular basis in order to attain inspiration. We believe that we have espoused the cause of positive and developmental journalism with utmost honesty and rigour. Unfazed by the competing media platforms who are obsessed with the TRP game and have no qualms in compromising time-honoured media ethics, we can safely claim we are out of this mad race for recognition. Rather, we chose the path less trodden. And, that has positioned The Interview Times where you find it today. We chose to play up the stories of those personalities who climbed the success ladder by the dint of their grit and gumption. These were the stories which escaped the wide lens of the big media. That is the narrative which you and I find relatable. And, we count on your support and patronage to keep this tradition running. Once again, I would like to state that the entire family of Interview Times Media Network is firmly committed to positive journalism in pursuit of making a better society in the days to come. Journalism is a passion for us, not a profession. Let’s celebrate. In this traumatic pandemic, a thank you note is incomplete without saluting the departed as well as those who lost their loved ones while pursuing journalism selflessly. Hope better days are in the offing with light and rays. It is therefore asked all of your’s noble donations to sustain the importance of pursuing positive journalism round the year.Lets value it sacredly.
